44 Days of LS Heat in Peak Summer of 2024: Poll Season Got Longer, Hotter Since 2004
It will be India’s longest-ever election at 44 days in peak summer, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting severe heatwaves in April and May. The marathon poll run this summer will be more than double of the election duration in 2004, when the election got transferred to the summer months rather than the cooler autumn-winter season.
