Amit Jain, the co-founder and CEO of CarDekho, made his debut on Shark Tank India in the second season. Despite joining later, he quickly became a favorite among fans for his meticulous approach and emphasis on prioritizing people over businesses. Alongside the sharks from the first season — Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal, and Vineeta Singh — Amit carved out his own following.
Replacing Ashneer Grover on the show, Amit recently engaged in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session. During this session, he discussed his fellow sharks and offered advice for budding entrepreneurs. When asked about his favourite sharks on the show, he said he is his own favourite. He then added, “On a serious note, favourites are: Peyush, Ritesh (Agarwal) and Azhar (Iqubal). Least favourite: Itna toh apko pata lag gaya hoga.”
In a recent episode aired earlier this month, Aman and Amit were involved in heated arguments and made snarky comments at each other, prompting curiosity about their relationship. On Reddit, Amit was asked if there were still any ‘beef’ between him and Aman due to the noticeable tension on the show. He said, “No beef, I am a vegetarian as everybody knows!” After an argument during a pitch, Aman had told Amit, “Aapka toh bahut naam kharab hai market mein (You don’t have a good reputation in the market),” to which the latter replied, “Mera toh bahut hi acha hai, pucho founders se (I have a good reputation, ask the founders).”
Shark Tank India returned with season three on January 22, 2024. Several familiar sharks from the previous seasons including Namita Thapar, Executive Director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, Aman Gupta, Co-founder of Boat, Peyush Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO of Lenskart, Anupam Mittal, Founder and Director of Shaadi.com and Vineeta Singh, CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, returned for Shark Tank India Season 3.
Joining them were also the new additions to the panel, which include Amit Jain, CEO and co-founder of Car Dekho, Ritesh Agarwal, Founder of OYO, Azhar Iqubal, Co-Founder and CEO of Inshorts, and Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Capital. Recently, film producer Ronnie Screwvala also joined the show.
