News18 India Chaupal: Political parties, lawmakers and policymakers are beginning to roll out their strategies in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the nation. One of the biggest conclave, ‘News18 India Chaupal’ brings to you with a lineup of critical discussions and debates between eminent personalities from the fields of politics, law and policy-making.
The much-awaited 8th edition of News18 India Chaupal was held at Delhi’s ITC Maurya Hotel on Monday. What makes the conclave even more significant is that the thoughts that are being shared in the discussions, the results of the debates will also indicate the current position of the world’s largest democracy.
The session began with a discussion with Union Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju. Following this, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took part in a discussion. The lineup of the event goes on with Congress leader Digvijay Singh, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, actor Aamir Khan, among others.
“What Modi ji said in Parliament was the transformation of India. While speaking on Rahul Gandhi, he further said. “I wish him all the best, he should work more.”
Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda, while speaking at the News18 India’s Chaupal event said that after 500 years we have seen Ram mandir…it has been a long journey for everyone.
Smriti Irani while speaking at the News18 India’s Chaupal event said, “We will win both Amethi and Rae Bareily.”
Union Minister Smriti Irani while speaking at the News18 India’s Chaupal event said that PM Modi is full of confidence. “We will cross the 400 mark as PM said in parliament,” she added.
Congress leader Kharge, while talking about OBC and census said, “We are not dividing…they (BJP) are not doing regular census.”
“They are still working on 2011 census. If you don’t have data how will you work for them,” he added.
“We don’t have parivarwad (dynastic politics), we have leaders. They have laid down their lives for the country,” Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said.
Kharge said that many leaders are now joining BJP for their own protection as they are scared of the ED and CBI.
Mallikarjun Kharge while speaking at News18 Chaupal said that the INDIA alliance is strong and that there is no rift. He further said that 28 parties take decision in the alliance for the convenor.
“Before making any decision he left the alliance,” Kharge added.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, while speaking on News18’s Chaupal platform, said that there is a positive mood in the country and that PM Modi’s government is going to be formed again.
He further said the members of the INDIA alliance do not trust each other.
Speaking at the event, Delhi’s Education Minister and Aam Aadmi party leader Atishi said that she will hold a press conference tomorrow at 10 am and will make a big disclosure regarding the Enforcement Directorate. Expressing regret over Bihar CM Nitish Kumar joining BJP, she further said that this move will only cause loss to BJP and himself.
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana said in News18 Chaupal, “It is a matter of pride for me to go to Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. The atmosphere there was completely different… I stay away from astrology. My father kept me away because he thought that if you were behind these things, you would not be able to do anything on your own… People become actors after long struggles, I was pushed into acting. My father had sent me out of the house to do something. The ambition was instilled in me by my father. I did not have any goals of my own in life.”
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, while specking at News18 India Chaupal, called superstar Shah Rukh Khan his idol. Khurrana said he joined a mass communication course after taking inspiration from khan.
Delhi’s Education Minister Atishi said that she will hold a press conference tomorrow at 10 am and will make a big revelation regarding ED. Expressing regret over Bihar CM Nitish Kumar joining the BJP, she said that his move would only cause loss to BJP and JD(U).
Delhi’s Education Minister targeted the BJP and said, “Their ED is working only against the opposition. As soon as they come to his party, all the corrupt people get washed of their corruption. Has all the corruption been done by the opposition parties? His party had brought out a booklet on Hemant Biswa Sharma. He joined their party and got washed in the washing machine. Suvendu Adhikari trapped in Saradha scam in West Bengal. He became clear as soon as he joined the BJP. Chhagan Bhujwal got trapped in so many scams in Maharashtra. Joined Bharatiya Janata Party and ED said can’t find Bhujwal’s files.”
Speaking at News18 Chaupal, Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi hit out at the Opposition’s INDIA bloc and said, “We had seen Lalu Yadav coming in and out of jail in our youth. These are all old parties. Aam Aadmi Party is a strange party. They came and said that we will change the world. Were they amateurs or very intelligent? The speed with which they have brought about change is amazing. They used to call Congress corrupt. Now they have joined them.”
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal a factory of lies.
He said that if there is a factory of lies somewhere in the 21st century, then its name is Arvind Kejriwal. He also praised PM Modi and said that the people of the country have faith in him and this time he will get an unprecedented mandate.
“All people of ‘ghamandiya’ alliance did not come together on any ideological ground. They came together to hurl personal abuse PM Modi… What is the INDIA bloc? It was a reactionary force of selfish people. Reactionary forces don’t last long,” said Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In a swipe at AAP’s alliance partner, Punjab CM Bhagwant asserted that Congress does not mean INDIA bloc, nor is it the biggest partner.
“INDIA bloc is a fist, we are together to save democracy,” he said.
On being asked why AAP is part of the INDIA alliance, the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said, “When it comes to national interest, first or second position does not matter. If there is no democracy, there will be no party. We are here to save the democracy.”
“Changes are taking place at a fast pace in the country. The way thinking has changed, the people of the country consider the Prime Minister like a family member,” says Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.
