The leading auto giant Maruti Suzuki has recalled over 16,000 units of top-selling models in India. As per the details shared by the PTI, the decision has been taken due to a defect in the fuel pump motor.
The company says it will recall 11,851 units one of the hot-selling products Baleno and 4,190 units of WagonR. The affected models have been manufactured under the timeline between July and November 2019.

While sharing the details, the PTI also quoted the official statement by the brand, which says “It is suspected that there is a possible defect in a part of the fuel pump motor, which is a rare case may lead to engine stalling or engine starting issue,”

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has been witnessing decent sales growth for the past few months. Even in the last month (February), the company has reported a domestic sales growth of 9 percent, retailing 1,68,544 units. The number is higher as compared to last year’s same month.
When it comes to the export business, it has also skyrocketed, receiving a spike of 68 percent to 28,927 units. Last year in February, the number stood at 17,207 units only.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers 24 models in the Indian market. The lineup includes 1 Pickup Truck, 10 Hatchbacks, 3 Sedans, 2 Minivans, 4 SUVs, and 4 MUVs.
