In a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, billionaire investor and philanthropist Bill Gates said Indians are “leading the way” in technology. Gates met with PM Modi at his residence in the national capital ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. A teaser of the interaction was released on Thursday.
The full interaction will be shared on Friday, news agency ANI said.

According to the teaser, Gates told PM Modi that Indians are not only “adapting” to technology, but also leading the way. “One of the themes that India brings to the table is that technology should be for everyone,” the billionaire said.
On his Last India visit in February 2024, Gates said he discussed several local and global issues and was blown away by the country’s strong focus on issues like digital public infrastructure, women-led development and innovation. The billionaire said he was optimistic that India would lead the way in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for public good.
“India has had pretty steady growth for some time. Obviously, there are countries to learn from which also had periods of very long growth. India will have to do things its own way. Manufacturing, for example, will play a role, but not as great a role as it did, say, in China. Services will play a greater role,” Gates said while speaking virtually on March 27 at the Times Now Summit 2024.
